Assassin’s Creed Shadows Update 1.0.5 Out Tomorrow, Full Patch Notes Revealed

Ubisoft has assured an Assassin’s Creed Shadows update late in May, and now it’s been thoroughly outlined before its debut on the 27th.
Anticipated to be approximately 3.3GB on PS5, patch 1.0.5 features the previously hinted at Dead by Daylight crossover mission, along with enhancements to parkour, additions to the photo mode, and… a hidden Balatro challenge?
The Dead by Daylight collaboration reportedly has Naoe confronting a “daunting supernatural menace,” and you’ll need to utilize “distinct mechanics” to complete the mission. Triumph, and you will unlock a themed trinket and banner.
A Dead by Daylight DLC pack will also be accessible in the store, “featuring outfits, weaponry, trinkets” and a mount. It’s unfortunate that more of this content isn’t integrated into the complimentary quest.
Regarding the Balatro connection, the patch documentation reveals little — it appears players will need to decipher it on their own.
Moreover, an additional quest named ‘Thrown to the Dogs’, previously exclusive for pre-orders, will now be accessible to all.

Thrown to the Dogs
With this update, every player will gain access to the pre-order bonus quest, “Thrown to the Dogs”.
This quest becomes available early in the game after completing “From Spark to Flame”.
Dead by Daylight Event
This event introduces a brand new free mission that you can access from the Hideout after unlocking Yasuke as a playable character. Once the event concludes, you will receive a free trinket and banner.
Balatro Trinket
We are also incorporating a new trinket for Naoe, and an amulet for Yasuke called “Winning Hand” — directly inspired by Balatro. These new items boast a legendary advantage that grants you a chance to activate a random affliction effect on combo conclusions.
Now… you’ll need to collaborate to discover how to obtain it!
Parkour Enhancements
The team has set up a series of enhancements to refine the parkour mechanics. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our committed parkour enthusiasts for their continuous feedback since launch.
Here are the key updates:
- New Vertical Leap
- Sprint Toggle Lock
- Improved Back and Side Ejects
New Photo Mode Features
Photo Mode is undergoing its most significant upgrade for an Assassin’s Creed title, incorporating new features to better tailor your shots and maximize capturing the allure of Feudal Japan.
These include the following capabilities:
- Adjust the time of day
- Experiment with various poses and facial expressions
- Toggle headgear on/off
- Play music while editing your images
- Sticker colorization
- New customization frames
- Save Custom Filters
- Reset a single parameter
- Adjust camera speed
- Enhanced preview mode

Balancing
- Resolved an issue where the Samurai Daisho and Ronin occasionally yielded an exceedingly high amount of Mon, regardless of their level, discouraging other methods of acquiring Mon.
- We have also partially rebalanced the Mon economy to promote more world exploration and gameplay activities to earn Crafting Materials and Hideout Resources instead of simply buying them through merchants.
- In pursuit of this, we’ve increased the cost of Crafting Materials and Hideout Resources sold by Merchants and decreased the quantity available each season for each Merchant.
- If you still want to buy them, we’ve augmented the amount of Mon earned from completing contracts.

- Resolved an issue where players were unable to finish the “Diary of Lady Rokkaku” quest because Naoe and Katsuhime were attached to surrounding water. They just wanted to enjoy a little swim!
