Sony has refreshed its Welcome Back widget, introducing two new animated backdrops inspired by some of 2025’s most notable games.
The recently launched animated wallpapers for Battlefield 6 and NBA 2K26 can be set on the hub screen, providing either a military or sports ambiance to your system, based on your preference.
Even though these wallpapers will exclusively apply to the Welcome Back screen, they appear quite attractive. We particularly appreciate the Battlefield 6 design, featuring silhouettes of aircraft in the backdrop.
Naturally, enthusiasts have spent the entire generation pleading with Sony to reinstate Themes, which currently seems unlikely. The company would contend that each specific game possesses its own distinctive wallpaper, yet evidently many aren’t particularly fond of that method.
The organization did explore some retro console-themed interfaces for the format’s 30th anniversary, which have now been permanently implemented due to user requests. We hope that the PS6’s user interface will allow for greater customization than the existing console.
