Tank girl
- by Sammy Barker

Vertical shooter Griffin, originally created by Telenet Japan for the Game Gear back in 1991, was never launched outside of Japan – until now.
Ratalaika Games has been focusing on the emulation aspect of its business for a considerable period, and has transferred this cult tank-themed shooter to both the PS5 and PS4. You can acquire it now for £4.99/$5.99.
Here’s the formal description from the press announcement:
“A nation developed the Griffin battle tank as a response to the rising power of a bordering country. However, the lead engineer of the initiative was abducted during evaluations. His granddaughter then boards the Griffin and embarks on her solo mission to save her grandfather!”
As with all of Ratalaika Games’ nostalgic endeavors, you can anticipate rewind functionality, save states, display filters, and even cheats. There’s also a jukebox so you can enjoy the release’s chiptune soundtrack at your leisure.
We haven’t experienced this title yet, so we’re unsure how well it performs, but we certainly appreciate seeing these rare vintage releases made accessible on contemporary systems.
Will you give this one a try?
