Sony has introduced a unique “centralised” Beta Program for PlayStation, enabling a straightforward method for users to enroll in testing PlayStation 5 and PC games, as well as components of consoles and apps, prior to their complete release.

Sony characterizes PlayStation’s Beta Program as a “simple, centralised location” where players can sign up to take part in a variety of different betas. These are expected to include beta access to PlayStation 5 and PC games, components for the PlayStation 5 console, PlayStation App features, and even resources on Sony’s PlayStation website. Anyone interested in participating only needs to register once – invitations will be dispatched automatically if a registered participant is selected for a specific test, allowing them to easily accept or decline that invitation as they see fit.

“While we strive to include as many gamers as we can in our beta programs,” Sony elaborates in its announcement on the PlayStation Blog, “there are times when we might experience more interest than we can accommodate. By joining this program, you will have the opportunity to be considered for beta involvement, but it does not ensure selection for a beta test.”

Players can register through the ‘Beta Program at PlayStation’ website, although Sony points out that a PlayStation Network account is required.
