The Vancouver-based developer Phoenix Labs has laid off a significant portion of its workforce.

In a post shared on LinkedIn, it mentioned that the choice was part of “unfortunate yet necessary changes to [its] operations.”

“We recognize and sincerely value the contributions of every individual affected,” the developer expressed. “Their skills, commitment, and creativity have made a lasting impact on our company and games.”

Phoenix Labs acknowledged that the future of its titles, Plucky and Fae Farm, is uncertain and that it will provide “further details in the upcoming weeks.”

“For now, our main priority is to assist those impacted during this transition,” it concluded.

Last May, approximately 140 staff members were reported to have been let go from the developer. According to former chief engineer Kris Morness, Phoenix Labs was acquired by the blockchain platform Specialty over a year ago, which “suspended all projects in development.”

This followed a round of layoffs in December.
