Veteran Sony executive Shuhei Yoshida announced their exit from PlayStation this week, and Xbox chief Phil Spencer has sent a heartfelt message to the executive as he prepares to bid farewell to one of Microsoft’s closest competitors in the gaming landscape.
Taking to Twitter this morning, Phil offered his congratulations to Shuhei for “a remarkable career at PlayStation.” The Xbox leader expressed that he has “valued the time we’ve spent discussing gaming” and noted that the Sony executive has “always been a strong supporter of the industry.”
As you can see above, Shuhei has since responded to Phil, praising the Xbox leader’s “innovative work” at Microsoft. We truly enjoy seeing interactions like these – they serve as a reminder that positive exchanges can happen on social media.
Shuhei Yoshida has dedicated over 30 years at Xbox rival PlayStation, rising to prominence with the platform’s significant indie game development during the early PS4 era. We wish him the best in his future endeavors!
