More than a year after its typical early access launch, Palworld is finally receiving crossplay, enabling friends (or should I say comrades?) across all platforms to enjoy gameplay together later this month.
Right from the start, Palworld gained immense popularity – on Steam alone, it quickly surpassed two million concurrent players (making it the second-ever game to achieve this milestone), not to mention its fanbase on Xbox. Months later, when it finally released on PS5, Palworld shot straight to the top of Japan’s PS5 charts, once again proving the demand for Pocketpair’s survival game. Now, however, the moment has finally arrived for all these distinct communities of players to unite into one expansive, shared multiplayer environment.
Announced by developer Pocketpair today, the update is set to arrive in “late March,” bringing “multiplayer capability across all platforms and world transfer for Pals,” which implies you’ll be able to transfer your beloved Pals from another location. A specific release date hasn’t been shared just yet, but with us already well into the month, we shouldn’t have to wait much longer for details.

While no additional information on the crossplay update has been confirmed, the Palworld account also hints that it “will include some little surprises as well,” so we’ll need to stay tuned for those. And just to clarify, “no,” this is not the final update for the survival game.
Back in December, Palworld received a significant content update called Feybreak, which even introduced an integrated Nuzlocke mode for fans of Pokémon challenges. Feybreak was evidently a success, as it caused a massive spike in concurrent players on Steam. Whether an update like the forthcoming crossplay one can achieve similar heights remains to be seen, but the fact that it’s finally happening is a significant win overall.
