Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader has achieved 1 million copies sold.

The developer, Owlcat Games, announced this achievement recently, more than a year following the game’s release on Windows, Mac, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. “This was no simple feat, but you have triumphed, Lord Captains,” remarked Owlcat.

For a point of reference, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous from the same studio sold over 1 million copies in early 2023. That game originally debuted on PC in 2021 before arriving on last-gen consoles the following year.

In a statement, Oleg Shpilchevskiy, the head of Owlcat, mentioned that Rogue Trader’s success “indicates that we, as developers, are progressing in the right direction. Collaborating with the remarkable team at Warhammer, we managed to create the CRPG of our dreams… and we will strive to present more stories in the vast universe of Warhammer 40,000.”

More Warhammer 40K is on the horizon

The Rogue Trader news comes shortly after Pullup Entertainment disclosed that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II has reached 6 million distinct players. In its recent financial report, the publisher praised the “exceptional performance” of Saber Interactive’s third-person shooter.

Although Space Marine II is not featured on any subscription service, Pullup has frequently highlighted its player counts instead of sales figures. A month following its September 2024 launch, the game became Pullup’s most successful launch ever, and “one of the top-selling titles across major platforms” by the end of 2024.

The owner of Warhammer, Games Workshop, has already committed to producing more Warhammer titles, including an MMO currently being developed by Jackalyptic Games. As of last December, the tabletop series is also being adapted into a television show for Prime Video featuring former Superman and Witcher star Henry Cavill.
