Old Home Ape devs band to secure Offroad Video games

Former Home Ape developers have banded together to establish Offroad Video games.

Two previous Home Ape projects, Chrome Valley Customs and Fastlane: Boulevard to Revenge, are part of the group, while the 10-person start-up is also working on Home Ape’s canceled racer, Slide Speed: Dazzling Karts, as well as another undisclosed vehicle-based intellectual property.

In an interview with PocketGamer.biz, CEO Geoffrey Gilles – who formerly oversaw Chrome Valley Customs as General Manager – is accompanied by CTO Christopher Jubb, lead game designer Vera Zaitceva, lead artist Hyo Chan, finance director Cameron Simon, and several others to form a team of seven full-time employees and three contractors.

Gilles aspires to expand the team to 15 individuals, despite Offroad not yet acquiring funding from Home Ape’s parent company, Supercell, or from other sources.

“I’ve always had the desire to be an entrepreneur, and this opportunity allowed me to continue managing successful live games,” Gilles expressed to PG.biz, emphasizing that camaraderie, ambition, and “being free-thinkers” are fundamental to Offroad’s principles.
