The platform owner is providing complimentary games as a form of restitution.

Nintendo has announced that it will phase out its online marketplace and services for the Switch in China by the end of May 2026.

The announcement, noted by Eurogamer, indicates that this process will begin with the cessation of digital game sales through the eShop on March 31, 2026. Additionally, no free trials will be available from that date onward.

Starting May 15, Switch owners in China will no longer be able to redeem any codes, acquire any devices, and all other network-related services will likely be discontinued.

Nintendo has not currently provided any explanation for this decision.

As compensation for Chinese Switch owners, Nintendo is offering up to four complimentary games, which can be redeemed between November 27, 2024, and March 31, 2026.

There are 12 titles available, including Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and others.
