It’s Ridge Racer!
In a recent update to the Switch Online N64 game collection, Nintendo has introduced the Namco title Ridge Racer 64.
This arcade-style vintage racer was originally launched on Nintendo’s console system in the year 2000, developed by the team at Nintendo Software Technology. It features several modes for you to navigate through, and there is even a multiplayer option.
Here’s the complete overview, thanks to Nintendo:
Ridge Racer 64 (2000)
“Debuting in 2000 for the Nintendo 64™ console, this arcade gem takes you on thrilling races across three unique environments with a total of nine courses! Jump right into Quick Play to race three laps around the Revolution Novice track, or take on the Grand Prix mode where you can select any available course to challenge your abilities. Additional modes include Car Attack, allowing you to compete for superior vehicles, and Time Attack, where you race against your own best time! Compete with your friends in Multiplayer mode and put the pedal to the metal with three options: Battle Mode, Stage Mode, and Team Mode.”
The launch of Ridge Racer 64 on the Switch Online service this week coincides with this particular game’s 25th anniversary, which officially occurs on February 14, 2025, as noted in our anniversary feature.
In addition, Japan’s retro N64 application for the Switch Online + Expansion Pack recently added Turok and Turok 2.
To access this latest Switch Online N64 addition, you must have an active Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription. This update follows last week’s SNES enhancement, which included Fatal Fury 2, Super Ninja Boy, and Sutte Hakku.
