Nintendo announces new lending characteristic for digital video games
Digital games will transform into Virtual Game Cards, and can also be borrowed by Nintendo Account family members.
Nintendo has revealed a new feature for the Switch and Switch 2 that converts digital games into Virtual Game Cards.
Set to launch in late April, users will be able to digitally remove and load games between two systems, and lend titles to Nintendo Account family members just like with physical game cards.
Virtual Game Cards can be assigned to a specific management display unit, where users can load, eject, and manage which cards are available for play on the device.
This feature also allows digital games to be shared across two devices connected to the same Nintendo account.
Local communication is necessary for the initial setup of this feature, but after this step, users can pre-load and decide which games are accessible for each system.
