Nintendo Aims High with Ambitious Sales Target for Next-Gen Console

Nintendo has reportedly partnered with a supply chain network that could ultimately enable the company to sell over 20 million Switch 2 consoles during the first year on the market.

This piece of information originates from a Bloomberg report citing Sanford C. Bernstein analyst Robin Zhu. To put that figure into better context, Nintendo sold “around 15 million” Switch units in its own first four quarters after the launch, indicating a potential 33 percent increase in sales during the initial twelve months.

“As the hardware segment contributed 40 percent of fiscal 2024 revenue, a successor to the 2017 Switch could align with its enhanced game lineup in fiscal 2026, reversing what is projected to be the fourth consecutive year of disappointing sales growth in fiscal 2024,” added analyst Nathan Naidu.
