The initial teaser for The Surfer has been unveiled – and it is wonderfully strange, just as we expected.

In the brief footage, which might even be seen below, Cage’s lead character returns to his coastal hometown in Australia – but the locals no longer want him around. Cage is adamant about catching waves on the shore he has always recognized and cherished, yet the residents warn him, “Don’t stay here, don’t surf here.” There are plenty of intense visuals featuring Cage looking both furious and wistful – and there’s even a moment of him cackling maniacally. Cage Rage is back, baby! Additionally, his character remains unnamed, and according to IMDb, is simply referred to as “The Surfer.”
