New Heroes Rise: A Sneak Peek at Infinity Survey #1’s Epic Showdown Against Unseen Foes
The new Infinity Watch has officially gathered to protect the essence of the Infinity Stones within the Marvel Universe, and their fresh ongoing series is set to launch. The title features primarily recent characters who have genuinely just inherited the power of the Infinity Stones. However, there’s a returning figure who now has a completely new mission: Phil Coulson, bearer of the new Dying Stone and sentinel of the divide between life and death.
Here’s a glimpse of the inner pages from Infinity Watch #1 by writer Derek Landy, artist Ruairí Coleman, inker Scott Hanna, colorists Brian Reber and Erick Arciniega, and letterer Cory Petit:
“Who holds the greatest power? Apologies, Thor. Apologies, Hulk. Presenting the seven most formidable beings in the universe, each wielding one of the embodiments of absolute power – THE INFINITY STONES. Half of the Stone Bearers are antagonists, while the other half aren’t exactly renowned heroes, so what implications does this bear for the Marvel Universe? If Star has anything to contribute, we might as well start referring to it as the Star Universe. Can Colleen Wing or Phil Coulson possibly shift the scales toward righteousness?”
The diverse group features Multitude (Soul Stone), Prince of Energy (Energy Stone), Extra time (Time Stone), Quantum (Space Stone), Principal individual (Reality Stone), Colleen Wing (Mind), and notably the aforementioned Phil Coulson – and the tension among the members is palpable.
“Crafting a team narrative where the members always agree is significantly more challenging than one where everyone is quarrelling and at each other’s throats – so I feel on relatively solid ground right from the start,” Landy
Infinity Watch #1 will be available for purchase on December 11.
The original Infinity Watch served as a pivotal element of the classic Infinity Gauntlet crossover, which ranks at the top of the
