Riot Games has retracted a promotional poster after supporters noticed it appeared to be generated using AI.
After expressing gratitude to a keen viewer for highlighting the anomaly of a hand in the banner artwork on Netflix itself, Riot Games labeled the image “an error [that] has since been eliminated” and reiterated its “firm policy” against AI.
“Thank you for bringing this to our notice,” wrote lead brand manager for Riot Games and Arcane, Alex Shahmiri.
“We uphold a firm stance against AI for anything related to Arcane as it is disrespectful to the exceptional artists who contributed to the production,” he continued. “This image was an error and has since been taken down. [Thanks] once more for highlighting it.”
