Monster Prepare 2 choo-choo-chooses a free up date
If you’re an enthusiast of trains and cunning deck-building roguelikes, you’ve likely been captivated by the critically acclaimed title, Monster Train, developed by Intellectual Shoe. So, you might be delighted to learn that its previously announced follow-up now has a release date—set to launch on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch on May 21st.
Intellectual Shoe’s original Monster Train debuted in 2020, placing players on a hellish train bound for the core of a frozen inferno. Players are challenged to fend off celestial forces and, importantly, maintain the train’s blazing pyre through tactical real-time card battles that unfold across several train floors. It’s quite an impressive feat, still holding an ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ rating on Steam four years after its debut.
This leads us to Monster Train 2. In this installment, inhabitants of Heaven and Hell have formed an unexpected alliance to defeat the formidable Titans—in an adventure that will take players through Heaven, Hell, and the enigmatic Abyss. To aid in their mission, Monster Train 2 presents five new clans, fresh items, new upgrade cards, and terrifying new adversaries. It also introduces new Room and Equipment card types. The former provides unique enhancements to the train itself, while the latter offers bonuses to items when activated.
Furthermore, there is a new Covenant Outpost where players can go between runs. Here, they will experience character interactions as the story unfolds and gain access to various resources. For example, there are unlockable Pyre Hearts, which can significantly enhance gameplay performance, along with train customization options and an enhanced Logbook.
Additionally, the narrative of Monster Train 2 is enriched by Dimensional Challenges –
