Monster Hunter Wilds sets date for first snarl update showcase
If the enjoyment of battling in the Monster Hunter Wilds‘ chaotic game ecosystem is beginning to diminish, you might be truly curious about what lies ahead for Capcom’s latest blockbuster. Following several previous hints, the publisher has now confirmed that it will be fully unveiling Wilds’ first major content update next Tuesday, March 25th.
Capcom’s latest Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase – the inaugural presentation since last month’s debut – will kick off at 2 PM in the UK/7 AM PT on Twitch. This event will be led by producer Ryozo Tsujimoto, who will explore Monster Hunter Wilds’ initial free Title Update (how Capcom refers to these updates), which is expected to go live in “early April.”
We already have a fairly good idea about what Title Update 1 will include thanks to Capcom’s previous discussions. For instance, it’s expected to introduce everyone’s beloved bubble dragon, Mizutsune, along with a “new location” for hunters to explore once they’ve completed the primary story – likely a centralized (and hopefully multiplayer-friendly) gathering spot similar to what we’ve previously experienced in earlier Monster Hunter titles.
Additionally, regarding previous hints, Capcom has also mentioned a “new level of challenge” for Wilds – one that will manifest as a monster of “considerable power” beyond the current Tempered variants available in-game. This is excellent news for anyone who (like myself, in my four-star review) felt Wilds’ difficulty was somewhat lacking at launch.
Stay tuned for the final details about Title Update 1 coming together (and hopefully some information on highly-anticipated performance improvements) during Monster Hunter Wilds’ showcase next week.
