Monster Hunter Wilds is US’ most effective-selling sport of 2025 to this level | US Month-to-month Charts
Capcom’s action RPG boasts more than twice the sales compared to its forerunner, Monster Hunter Rise.
Capcom’s Monster Hunter Wilds has reached the top of Circana’s US sales charts for February and currently stands as the best-selling game of 2025 thus far.
The action RPG achieved the number one position on both PlayStation and Xbox individual platform charts, with over half of its sales coming from Steam.
According to Circana, the sales for Monster Hunter Wilds in its launch month were more than twice the total sales generated by Monster Hunter Rise during March 2021. Monster Hunter Wilds sold 8 million units in just three days, making it the fastest-selling title in Capcom’s history.
Securing second place was Warhorse Studios’ Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, which also achieved the same ranking on the PS and Xbox charts.
As reported by Circana, the sales for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 during its launch month were “over five times higher” than the initial revenue of Kingdom Come: Deliverance from February 2018.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 reached 1 million sales in just 24 hours following its release on February 4, 2025. Subsequently, it sold 2 million units in less than two weeks.
The Top Ten list included four additional new releases, with Civilization 7 at No.3, PGA Tour 2K25 at No.4, followed by Avowed at No.7 and Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii at No.8. Avowed also secured the No.6 position on the Xbox engagement charts.
Regarding mobile content, Monopoly Slide retained its top position, followed by Last War: Survival, which advanced by two spots, surpassing Roblox for the first time in monthly US mobile spending, as underscored by Sensor Tower’s Samuel Aune.
“Last War: Survival experienced a 17% rise in in-app purchase revenue month-over-month, while both Royal Match and Roblox saw declines of approximately 9%,” stated Aune. “If this trend persists, Last War: Survival will be the No.2 game in US mobile gaming in-app purchase revenue.”
He also mentioned: “Noteworthy are the two Pokémon titles: Pokémon TCG Pocket and Pokémon Go. This marks the first occurrence where two games from the same IP (though different publishers) have charted [in the Top Ten] simultaneously, which is quite an achievement.”
In February, US consumer spending decreased by 6% year-over-year to $4.5 billion. Circana highlighted that “spending up to this point in the year is 11% lower than the same period last year at $9 billion.” Spending on online game content also fell 4% YoY to $4 billion.
Elsewhere, hardware revenue declined by 25% to $256 million compared to the same period last year. This marks the lowest February total since 2020, when hardware revenue was $184 million.
The report also notes that after the first 52 months in the market, PlayStation
