Monster Hunter Wilds has firmly established its position as a record-breaker for Capcom following exceeding 10 million cumulative sales in a single month.

The latest main installment in the enduring franchise was released on February 28, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S, and PC.

It sold 8 million copies during its launch weekend and drew in an estimated 1.3 million simultaneous players on Steam alone. These achievements resulted in Wilds becoming the fastest-selling title in Capcom’s history.

Its remarkable success marks a first-month sales record for the Japanese publisher.

Capcom indicated that Wilds succeeded by blending the series’ timeless appeal with “new features” in the form of an innovative Focus Mode mechanic and smooth transitions between towns and environments.

The company also mentioned that the introduction of crossplay, allowing players from all platforms to team up, was a factor in the success of Wilds.

The Monster Hunter series has now achieved over 108 million total sales globally.
