“Monster Hunter Wilds: A Record-Breaking Sensation with 8 Million Sales in Just 3 Days!”

Monster Hunter Wilds’ remarkable success persists, as Capcom has now announced that the game has reached eight million sales in record time for the company.

Capcom’s latest action RPG was launched across various platforms including PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S on Friday, and it quickly became evident that it was successful based on its Steam statistics. It took just over an hour for it to exceed a million concurrent players, and on the same day, it surpassed titles like Elden Ring and Cyberpunk 2077 to achieve the fifth highest peak of concurrent players in Steam’s history. However, Capcom has confirmed that it took merely three days for Monster Hunter Wilds to reach eight million sales.

These figures are not only impressive, but it also marks “the quickest a title has achieved this milestone in the company’s history,” says Capcom. They attribute this success to “ongoing global initiatives,” such as showcasing the game at “international gaming events” (like Gamescom) and conducting launch beta tests for players to try the action RPG. While all of this is indeed relevant, we cannot overlook the fact that the game is genuinely quite exceptional – in our Monster Hunter Wilds review, we stated it has “the finest combat and storyline” in the series’ history, helping it solidify its status as “the new pinnacle of Monster Hunter.”

Unfortunately, not everything has gone smoothly for the game. The PC version, in particular, has spurred numerous complaints from players regarding performance issues, leading to a “Mixed” rating on Steam. The game’s producer Ryozo Tsujimoto has acknowledged that the developers have “refined our game as much as possible,” but we hope that some additional optimization might be forthcoming for those struggling to get the action RPG to run smoothly.
