Sony San Diego has announced that MLB The Show’s Challenge of the Week has players aiming to strike a 200MPH fastball. Those who score the most points after the contest concludes will receive rewards.

Sony San Diego has teamed up with the American sports and comedy troupe Dude Perfect for this week’s Unlikely Fastball Challenge of the Week. It will run from April 4 at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET to April 11 at 11:59 AM PT / 2:59 AM ET. Players must have an internet connection and should be at least 18 years old to claim the prizes:

  • 1st place: Paul Skenes autographed The Show baseball
  • 2nd place: Elly De La Cruz autographed The Show baseball
  • 3rd place: Gunner Henderson autographed The Show baseball
  • 4th – 10th place: 50,000 Stubs
  • 11th – 20th place: 40,000 Stubs
  • 21st – 40th place: 30,000 Stubs
  • 41st – 100th place: 10 Challenge of the Week Exclusive Packs

Players will compete as Elly De La Cruz against a CPU-controlled Paul Skenes who throws a 200MPH fastball and aim to accumulate as many points as possible within three outs. GameSpot has tested this challenge, and it appears players will genuinely need to swing as soon as the pitch leaves Paul Skenes’ hand to make contact with the ball.

MLB The Show 25 is currently available on PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series X|S. In GameSpot’s MLB The Show 25 review, we noted, “MLB The Show 25 introduces several significant new features while refining its already exceptional on-field gameplay.”
