MindsEye, the exceptional game from former GTA producer Leslie Benzies, has finally been assigned a release date.

The game was initially announced as part of the Everywhere initiative from Benzies’ studio, Manufacture A Rocket Boy; then in October last year, Hitman creator IO Interactive revealed it would be responsible for publishing MindsEye.

It now has a confirmed launch date: 10th June 2025, across PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Additionally, there is a new story trailer to accompany the announcement.

The trailer for this action-adventure thriller showcases the futuristic desert city of Redrock City, along with the unusual tech mogul Marco Silva who is eager to alter the path of human evolution.

“We can’t wait for players to dive into our meticulously crafted game, MindsEye, featuring a thought-provoking narrative where technology and ambition intersect, revealing the inevitable outcomes,” stated Benzies.

Adam Whiting, the assistant game director at Manufacture A Rocket Boy, informed Eurogamer that the team isn’t concerned about a June release coinciding with the traditional E3 and Summer Game Fest period. “It perhaps allows us to genuinely connect with players around that time in a significant manner,” he remarked. “We are simply thrilled for players to finally have the opportunity to play.”

Furthermore, Whiting confirmed that the developer is still working on Everywhere. “MindsEye is an independent game, but it has some connections,” he explained. “You can access it through Everywhere as a platform, but primarily we are really focused on MindsEye.”

Everywhere was initially unveiled at Gamescom in 2022, although its purpose puzzled gamers, leading to speculations regarding cryptocurrency and NFTs. Benzies categorically denied these claims to Eurogamer during a preview of the project in March 2023.

Essentially, it serves as a platform for user-generated content, similar to Roblox, with MindsEye being a significant example from the developer itself of what can be accomplished. Recently, MindsEye has taken center stage while Everywhere has been quietly progressing in the background.

MindsEye will be available as a standalone game for £54.99 / $59.99 / €59.99.

The company faced layoffs in early 2024, merely a month after completing a new $110m funding round led by investor NetEase.

Whiting mentioned to Eurogamer the industry’s rapid expansion during the Covid-19 pandemic, which was followed by widespread layoffs. “We’re witnessing a lot of that happening in the industry right now, and it saddens me because the gaming industry is filled with many incredibly talented, wonderful individuals,” he noted.
