Mastering the Murky Field File Mission in GTA Online: A Guide for Brokers of Sabotage

The Murky Field File is one of the essential tasks you can undertake for Jodi in the Agents of Sabotage update in Grand Theft Auto Online. This task obliges you to bring down an IAA plane to retrieve its black box, which seems to hold some intriguing secrets inside.
To achieve this, you must acquire a device to hack into the plane and a craft to take it down from the skies. Following that, dive underwater to snatch the black box after it has been shot down. Successfully completing the mission can earn you up to $200k.

Acquire the Hacking Device
Your initial task in The Murky Field File is to obtain a Hacking Device, which is crucial for intercepting the plane’s communications from the air. The Hacking Device can be located on a rooftop in downtown Los Santos, and you should navigate to its waypoint right after Jodi finishes detailing the mission from your base at the garment factory.
At the waypoint, climb a ladder to reach the rooftop, where a few enemies are waiting for you. Eliminate them and interact with the green box to pick up the Hacking Device. After that, descend the ladder and head over to LSIA, which is located just a short distance away.
Once at LSIA, move to the control tower indicated on your map and take out the red cameras unless you wish to attract the police. Ascend the right ladder of the control tower and continue going up until you reach the top. There, you can place the Hacking Device on an electrical box and parachute or climb down.
Return to the garment factory to receive your next assignment in the mission.
Retrieve the Tula
It doesn’t really matter which option you select, as the barge is equipped with a Merryweather helicopter, two machine gun boats, and several adversaries waiting for you. Take them all out and board the Tula situated in the center of the barge.
Once you’re inside, you’ll need to deal with six Merryweather helicopters that will try to attack you. This isn’t too challenging, as the enemy helicopters won’t pose a significant threat. After eliminating the choppers, head towards LSIA and land the Tula at the designated area.
Secure the Sonar Equipment
The final mission before the grand finale is to acquire some sonar equipment, which will be used to locate the black box after the plane crashes.
The sonar equipment can be found on a tugboat near the Los Santos docks. Specifically, you can get to the back entrance on the eastern side of the dock. You might encounter a few enemies to eliminate on the tugboat, but it shouldn’t take you too long. Once they’re taken care of, head to the front of the tugboat, where you’ll find a storage box containing the sonar equipment.
With the equipment secured, return to the garment factory and access the computer to initiate the final mission of The Murky Field File.
Hack Air Traffic Control and Locate the Plane
The first step in the final mission is to return to LSIA and hack into air traffic control on the tower you visited before. All you need to do is press the assigned button when you approach the tower, so there’s no climbing involved.
Next, proceed to the Tula at the nearby terminal and pilot it to catch up to the IAA plane that’s already flying in the sky. This may take a bit of time, as the Tula is quite slow and the plane is already somewhat far from the airport.
