Mark Your Calendars for The Game Awards 2024: All You Need to Know!
Well, everyone, Geoff Keighley is back once more with another edition of The Game Awards.
This year’s celebration commemorates the tenth Anniversary of The Game Awards, so we’re anticipating some enormous revelations (not solely game announcements, mind you) and impressive festivities. Of course, there will be a plethora of sponsored advertisements mixed in for good measure.
It has been a solid year for Nintendo, although it might not be as stellar compared to previous endeavors. Nonetheless, we’ve experienced some fantastic first-party launches, such as The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Mario & Luigi: Brotherhood, Princess Peach: Showtime!, Super Mario Party Jamboree, Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club, and more. Do any of these have the potential to be award recipients?
In this guide, we will cover everything you may need to know for this year’s TGA showcase, so fasten your seatbelts, and let’s get started.
What time are The Game Awards 2024?
The Game Awards 2024 will take place on Thursday, December 12th (Friday the 13th for anyone east of the Americas), broadcast live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles at 5pm Pacific.
Here are the local timings in various time zones. Note that if you wish to catch the pre-show, it begins 30 minutes prior to the main event:
- North America: 5pm (Wed) PST / 6pm (Wed) MST / 7pm (Wed) CST / 8pm (Wed) EST
- UK/Ireland: 1am GMT
- Europe: 2am CET / 3am EET
- Asia/Oceania: 10am JST / 9am AWST / 12pm AEDT
There will likely be a 30-minute pre-show that starts at 4:30pm PST, during which a few “smaller” awards will be presented, similar to previous years.
Where can I watch The Game Awards 2024?
The Game Awards 2024 will be streamed on YouTube and Twitch, with the former being available natively on the Switch, if you prefer. You may also be able to watch live feeds of the streams on the following platforms, and we will be watching here on NL with our Live Chat post going live at midnight UK time (one hour before the main show begins):
Keep in mind, you might also attend in person, if you’re able. Limited tickets have been available through the official Peacock Theatre website.
How long will The Game Awards 2024 last?
We aren’t exactly sure how long The Game Awards 2024 will last at this moment, but based on previous years’ events, we’re expecting it to run around 3-4 hours. Given it is the tenth anniversary, we wouldn’t be too surprised if Geoff manages to make it even longer this time.

Which games will likely be showcased or introduced at The Game Awards 2024?
Mr. Keighley is keeping his plans under wraps for this year’s event and hasn’t hinted at any official game announcements prior to December 12th… yet.
Last year, Hades II was revealed, so it wouldn’t be surprising if there is an update from Supergiant Games regarding that. Otherwise, we know everyone is hoping for something related to Silksong. We feel the same way, however.
As for Nintendo, we would advise tempering expectations. We’re not anticipating any major announcements from the company (if they even show up at all), and we certainly do not expect a ‘Switch 2’ announcement.
You know, it might happen now.
