Mac Walters’ Worlds Untold Studio Hits the Pause Button in Search of New Backing
“This isn’t farewell – there’s more on the horizon,” BioWare veteran Mac Walters remarked.
A second studio established by a BioWare veteran has closed its doors in just a few days.
Mac Walters’ Worlds Untold – which had received backing from NetEase – announced it is “pausing operations” until it can find additional funding.
In a message shared on LinkedIn, Walters described the decision as “heart-wrenching,” expressing his “deep gratitude” for “the time we’ve shared” at the studio.
“It’s challenging to articulate this, but I wanted to convey that we have made the very tough choice to pause operations at Worlds Untold while we look for a new partner to help realize our vision,” Walters indicated.
“This was not a decision we took lightly – it has been a profoundly personal journey, and we’re all immensely proud of everything this team has accomplished together.
“For now, our exceptional team members will likely be seeking new opportunities. If you’re in search of passionate, talented individuals, please don’t hesitate to reach out – I would be honored to connect you with some of the best people I’ve ever worked with.
“This is a heartbreaking time for everyone involved, but I am deeply thankful for the support we’ve received from our partners, friends, and family, and for the time we’ve shared at Worlds Untold,” he concluded.
