Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii – the adventurous new chapter in Sega’s enduring crime narrative – will introduce a New Game Plus as part of a complimentary post-launch update.
Sega announced the news during a 15-minute Like a Dragon Direct showcase focusing on the anticipated Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. This represents a significant transformation in strategy for the publisher, especially after last year’s Like a Dragon: Endless Wealth stirred controversy among fans by restricting New Game Plus to its more expensive Deluxe and Premium Editions.
Sega has yet to reveal much else about the newly announced New Game Plus feature for Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, only indicating that it will be included in a “post-launch patch” at an unspecified time after the game’s release on February 21.
In other updates from today’s Like a Dragon presentation, developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio delved a bit deeper into some of Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii’s features, providing further insights into land and sea battles, ship customization, crew development, side quests, and more.
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii – which follows the thrilling escapades of fan-favorite character Goro Majima as he finds himself with amnesia on the secluded Rich Island – will be available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC on February 21.
