Kukouri Mobile Entertainment is “shifting away from game creation”.
According to PocketGamer.biz, Kukouri has handed over its IPs Pixel Worlds and Tiny Troopers to Social First, with CEO Petri Piipari admitting that “Pixel Worlds has not been a financially sustainable product for quite a while”.
“As the sole active Tiny Troopers game has been licensed to an external publisher and developer, the tough choice was made to terminate all game operations,” Piipari stated.
A glance at the official website currently reads: “Notice: This website has been shut down. Thank you for all the years”.
Nonetheless, Social First indicated that the decision to acquire Kukouri’s portfolio was “a straightforward one”.
“We’re continuing to develop Nexus Arena with our initial community, many of whom are veterans from Pixel Worlds, and acquiring the IPs from Kukouri does not alter our progress in any way,” remarked a representative from Social First.
