In light of last week’s alleged ‘Switch 2’ hardware revelations, additional clues regarding the software lineup are now making the rounds online.
Aside from “over six Ubisoft titles” anticipated, Nate the Hate shared on his recent podcast that Nintendo’s upcoming console might also receive Konami’s forthcoming Metal Gear Solid installment. Here’s what he had to say:
“Another third-party title I’ve heard about is Metal Gear Solid: Delta, which is set for release in 2025…I’m hopeful it could be a simultaneous launch when it arrives on Switch 2.”
The source indicates that Square Enix is preparing to launch Final Fantasy VII Remake on the new Nintendo console in 2025, with Rebirth also slotted for 2026. However, the latest title seems less likely to appear:
“I’ve had inquiries about whether Final Fantasy 16 will be available on Switch 2, and to my knowledge, as of now, 16 is not scheduled for Switch 2 – Square Enix is focusing on Remake and Rebirth, as those are more legendary titles, and Cloud is a very recognizable character compared to Final Fantasy 16, which, while a solid game, hasn’t resonated with a large audience.”
As is often the case, this information is speculative, so take everything here with caution. The Switch announcement is intended to occur in the current fiscal year and will be taking place shortly.
