Deputy CEO Phil Rogers will assume leadership
Plaion CEO Klemens Kundratitz is resigning 31 years after co-founding the company, originally known as Koch Media.
Starting April 2025, Kundratitz will transition to a strategic advisory position for Embracer as he “steps back from daily operations” to “spend more quality time with his family.”
Phil Rogers, currently Deputy CEO, will take over management responsibilities.
“I’m thrilled to pass my CEO responsibilities to Phil,” Kundratitz stated. “I am confident he will do an excellent job, as he possesses the right leadership skills and vision to develop Middle-earth & Friends while maintaining Plaion’s strong momentum.”
“It has been an immense joy to build this company, and I am grateful and proud to have collaborated with our exceptional teams worldwide,” he continued. “I couldn’t have asked for a more thrilling and fulfilling role in the entertainment sector, and I take pride in what we have accomplished together.”
Phil Rogers remarked: “Klemens has devoted much of his life to Plaion and has created an extraordinary legacy, a fundamental part of the European entertainment industry. I am eager to start collaborating closely with Plaion’s leadership team as we develop our new business unit, Middle-earth & Friends.”
Kundratitz, along with co-founder Franz Koch, initiated Koch Media as a distribution company in Germany, Austria, and the UK in 1994 and is responsible for notable franchises like Metro, Dead Island, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Since being acquired by Embracer Group in 2018, it now employs over 2000 individuals across 15 countries.
