“If the opportunity arises, we will do our utmost”

If you’re a fan of classic 3D platformers, you might be on the lookout for Kero Quest 64 eventually.

As you may have seen yesterday, this Kickstarter project by Stratobox has officially achieved its “Switch port stretch goal” after raising over $25,000 USD. It is a “collectathon 3D platformer inspired by other titles in the genre” and is a collaborative effort with GalaxyTrail (Freedom Planet).

What might be even more intriguing at this stage in the Switch’s lifecycle is the mention of a potential release on the “successor to the Nintendo Switch.” Here’s exactly what the team shared about this:

“We will put in the effort to ensure that the game functions flawlessly on the Nintendo Switch. Perhaps we can be daring and suggest that it could also reach the successor of the Nintendo Switch? Regardless of what the name turns out to be, if the opportunity arises, we will strive to release Kero Quest 64 on it as well!”

The campaign still has 12 days remaining, with several additional stretch goals available, including a second DLC pack and a “popular indie character DLC pack”.

In Kero Quest 64, players will take control of Kero – who can jump, glide, and use his tongue to grab and swing. There will be over 20 initial levels to navigate as you embark on a quest to collect magical shards and gather various items such as coins and unlockable costumes.

You can check it out on screen in the trailer above, and there’s also a demo available for download right now on Steam. If you wish to learn more about this game, be sure to check out our previous post.
