Netflix has unveiled the first full-length trailer for You season 5, and it appears that the walls might finally be closing in on Joe Goldberg.

Following a move to London in season 4 and starting anew as a university lecturer, Joe finds himself back in New York City for the series’ concluding season. He is now wed to Kate (Charlotte Richie), and his socialite spouse has thrust him into the public eye – which could spell trouble for our favorite serial killer.

The trailer hints at disturbing coverage in the media (“They’ve made me the most visible man in New York”), which brings him to the attention of someone claiming to have known Peach Salinger, Shay Mitchell’s character from season 1 whom Joe eliminated in Central Park. “If anyone has information on Joe Goldberg, we need to know,” a woman states during a public appeal. “That psycho absolutely killed my best friend Peach.” There’s also a glimpse of Nadia, Joe’s former student whom he framed for the murders in season 4, in a detention center – is she planning her revenge?

For the moment, however, Joe is back at the bookstore, where he encounters Bronte, played by The Handmaid’s Tale’s Madeline Brewer. She becomes his new romantic interest, and it seems he is returning to his old patterns. Proceed with caution.

This season features 10 episodes, all released today, in contrast to season 4, which was split into two parts. Joining Brewer, new cast members for the series’ final chapter include Anna Camp from True Blood and Griffin Matthews from She-Hulk.

You season 5 premieres on the streaming platform on April 24. In the meantime, update your watchlist with our guide to the latest new TV shows set to launch in 2025.
