Ideally, if the world were entirely filled with kind individuals, it wouldn’t necessarily create an engaging life simulation online game. If all the characters in InZoi merely exchanged compliments, it would quickly become monotonous—thankfully, this is not at all what InZoi is about. Here is a comprehensive explanation of how InZoi karma functions.

Understanding InZoi karma

In InZoi, you can be either a good Zoi or an evil Zoi, and your actions determine your karma level. InZoi’s karma does not have an immediate equivalent in The Sims 4—its nearest counterpart would be the reputation system, which is based on how other characters perceive you, while this karma system relates more closely to the game’s assessment of your behavior.

With that in mind, it is simplest to think of InZoi’s karma as similar to a light side/dark side meter in a Star Wars game, or the renegade/paragon system from Mass Effect. As your karma shifts in one direction or the other, you will unlock new options that align with your moral standing. If you accumulate negative karma, you will unlock new ways to be a villain, such as starting fights and pushing people to the ground for no reason. You can even begin engaging in criminal activities, like robbing ATMs. It’s possible you’ll end up in jail for that sort of behavior, so proceed with caution.

Conversely, having good karma will unlock a variety of new friendly and supportive interactions that can encourage other Zois to like you more.

While there is no inherent visual cue in having negative karma—such as horns or something similar like in Fantasy—there is a narrative aspect. If your Zoi has negative karma upon their death, they will become a ghost who wanders the world dealing with unfinished business. Unfortunately, the ghost mechanics have yet to be implemented in the game, so we don’t know exactly how they will function.

How to gain good or bad karma in InZoi

Now that you understand what karma does, we haven’t yet discussed how you can actually earn or lose it. In broad terms, it’s clear that negative interactions with other Zois will diminish your karma, while positive interactions will enhance it. However, more specifically, there is a dedicated section of the dialogue and interaction menu in InZoi reserved for actions that will alter your karma. It appears like this.

Choose interactions marked with the circular karma symbol to modify your karma.
Select interactions with the circular karma symbol if you wish to increase or decrease your karma.

That small circular icon on the options on the right side of the image represents InZoi’s karma, with a blue circle indicating a good karma action, and a red circle signifying a bad karma action. To enhance your karma, engage in blue actions as much as possible. To decrease your karma, participate in red actions. It’s really that straightforward.

There are two additional ways you can tweak the system slightly, however. The first is with donuts. There are a couple of karma-specific donuts that can be purchased using the coins earned from achieving your life goals, one that resets your karma to neutral, and one that provides you very b
