Last week, we received our initial glimpse of some precise, accurate Pokémon Legends: Z-A images. Reactions have swung between “we’re back in action!” and “it’s completely finished!” in the days that followed. However, we can all concur that it looked very much like ‘Switch 1’, wouldn’t you agree? It seems that not everyone shared this view, as some have even begun to speculate that the images we saw were actually captured from a Switch 2.

We were quite taken aback by the mere notion that the images might originate from new hardware, and it appears the tech experts at Digital Foundry felt the same way, as they recently shared their insights on whether the Z-A gameplay could be from the forthcoming device.

To get straight to the point, Digital Foundry provided a clear “no.” “This is definitely not Switch 2,” said Oliver Mackenzie from Digital Foundry during the discussion, pointing out the similarities of the images to Scarlet and Violet before concluding, “if this is Switch 2, we’re in for some trouble.”
