Inside the World of Ambulance Life: A Paramedic Simulator for Xbox

Currently, the time indicates the review embargo for Ambulance Life: A Paramedic Simulator, and despite the undeniable fact that we’ve been exploring it here at Pure Xbox, we have not managed to provide a comprehensive assessment. However, in our initial hours with the game, we found it to be quite fascinating, resembling what you would expect from the developers behind 2022’s Police Simulator: Patrol Officers – a title that is enjoyable and addictive in several aspects, yet flawed and unintentionally humorous in others!

The fundamental loop of Ambulance Life: A Paramedic Simulator involves you taking on shifts where you’re dispatched to various emergency situations – from heart attacks to burn victims – and it is your responsibility to reach the site as swiftly as possible, provide the best care from your ambulance, and then safely transport your patient to the hospital.

You can sense the ambition that developer Aesir Interactive has put into Ambulance Life, evident through the impressive variety of tools available to handle each scenario, such as the ability to administer numerous types of intravenous medications, and you will need to familiarize yourself with all of this through the in-game “manual” – the array of options can feel somewhat overwhelming at first.

Similar to Police Simulator, you have the ability to question patients and witnesses to investigate the scenario further, as well as perform various tests to gain a clearer understanding of a patient’s health as you treat them. It becomes a game of prioritization – determining who needs your attention the most (only one patient can be transported at a time), what actions should be taken first, how quickly things need to be accomplished, and whether you have enough time to secure everything before they go into cardiac arrest! It is a game that keeps you on your toes, and it can be quite stressful at times!

However, it can also be very amusing. Navigating through heavy traffic can be a nightmare when vehicles occasionally refuse to give you enough space, maneuvering a stretcher feels comically awkward, the way patients behave and respond can be wonderfully bizarre, and the freedom to treat them in whatever manner you see fit can lead to absurd situations where you’re applying completely inappropriate solutions for their ailments (just like Mr. Bean).

To truly enjoy Ambulance Life: A Paramedic Simulator, you may need to approach it with a different mindset. Police Simulator: Patrol Officers is a flawed game when you’re looking for something highly realistic, but it can be quite enjoyable if you don’t take it too seriously. In fact, we’ve had a genuinely good time with it despite its repetitive nature and core glitches. Ambulance Life feels quite similar – it is miles away from being a lifelike experience akin to Microsoft Flight Simulator, but that’s perfectly fine! There’s still plenty of fun to be had when you enter with the right attitude.

Much like in Police Sim, there is a well-developed storyline to uncover in Ambulance Life as well, which expands as you unlock more districts (along with additional emergency situations). It all seems quite commendable considering Aesir Interactive is not a AAA developer by any means, and once again, we must emphasize that we are impressed by the ambition that has gone into
