Playdead, the company behind indie successes Limbo and Inside, is seeking reparations from co-founder Dino Patti, citing allegations of copyright violation—an assertion that Patti refers to as “bullying” by his fellow co-founder Arnt Jensen (thanks for the tip, Game Developer).

The duo parted ways soon after Inside’s release in 2016, with Patti moving on to establish Somerville at Jumpship, and this week, their conflict has become public knowledge.

In a recent LinkedIn post, Patti states that he has “consistently” received “legal correspondence” from Playdead over the nine years following his exit. The latest letter, he reveals, is dated March 3, 2025, and threatens an intellectual property lawsuit if Patti does not remit 500,000 DKK (£56,000 / $73,000) in “reparations and restitution” for allegedly sharing an “unauthorized” Limbo image in a now-removed LinkedIn post.
