A newly established independent game publisher based in the UK has debuted today, known as The CoLab.

Co-founded by Darren Newnham (former CEO of United Impression), Imprint Faulkner (former director of product at Jagex), and John Lewis (former senior art director at Codemasters), this publisher seeks to support indie developers through a shared initiative.

The CoLab has released three titles upon launch, which include Team Emprenintes’ narrative-driven sandbox Campfire, Shotgun Anaconda’s top-down cyberpunk shooter DeadWire, and Bjenssen’s strategy game Counter Clash.

More titles are scheduled for release this year and in 2026. Additionally, there are plans to host sessions led by developers, with the inaugural one expected in late 2025.

Furthermore, the publisher has teamed up with the mental health charity Staunch in Our World within the video game industry as part of its “dedication to ethics, collaboration, and transparency” as a publisher.

“We advocate for teamwork and solidarity in an industry that urgently requires it,” stated CEO Darren Fresh.
