In the realm of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, it’s likely you’ll uncover numerous treasures. However, some of them may require revisiting different locations merely to acquire the items you desire. Here’s our guide on how to complete The Serpent’s Chest in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
Initiating The Serpent’s Chest in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle – Puzzle Guide
The Serpent’s Chest quest within Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is a riddle-like task located within the Sukhothai area. Specifically, you commence this side quest from Voss’ Camp situated in the northern section of the region.
Serpent’s Chest Location and Breathing Device Requirement
You can also initiate the Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Serpent’s Chest quest by examining the note next to the ornate chest itself. It is located just inside the barracks, directly past the entrance to Voss’ Camp. The note primarily discusses how the Nazis are attempting to locate ancient keys that were lost within the Vatican, Giza, and Shanghai, locations that you may have already visited during the campaign.
However, before heading to those locations, be aware that you will need the Breathing Device/Rebreather purchased from Tongdang, the book vendor in Sukhothai. This tool enables you to survive for extended periods underwater, as the areas where these keys are hidden require swimming through passageways.
Here are some tips to keep in mind while you are still in Voss’ Camp:
- In the laundry area/yard, you can obtain the Royal Navy Uniform/Disguise. This will prevent most soldiers from turning hostile once they see you.
- Inside the main building, you can access Voss’ personal safe. Enter the code 5-4-8-4 to unlock it. This grants you over 2,000 baht, which is just enough to buy the Rebreather.
- Also in the same building, you might find a board game which is the Mak-Yek puzzle.
- Behind the camp, there’s the Elephant in the Room puzzle.
Regardless, once you acquire the Rebreather and feel prepared, open the Travel tab in your journal to return to previously explored areas.

From the Excavation Site, take the shortcut that leads back to the main chamber with the pool of water. Jump down and face the western wall. Swim underwater and utilize the Rebreather to reach the main area.

In the elevator section, navigate through the hallway leading to the room where you electrocuted two Nazi guards. The adjacent compartment is partially submerged. Swim through the opening and shift the wooden board to collect this key.

You are now one step closer to finishing the Serpent’s Chest quest in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. For this, you’ll need to return to Shanghai.

This key necessitates a return from the rooftop where Gina piloted the airplane, all the way back to nearly where you began. More specifically, it is the area near the canal and bridge.
Serpent’s Chest Reward
Once you have obtained all three Ancient Keys, return to the barracks in Voss’ Camp. Insert each key to unlock the chest. Your reward, unfortunately, is just a single Ancient Sukhothai Relic. Though it may seem a bit underwhelming, on the bright side, that adds one more to your overall collection.
