The Captain’s Code puzzle in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is part of the main quest in the Himalayas known as A Harsh Climb. As you navigate the ship, you will eventually arrive at an officer’s mess where everyone has frozen to death. You will need to look for several clues in order to open the steel door.

The initial clue is found in the Captain’s Code document, which contains the letters: J-Ö-G-M.

There are also two additional Code Desk documents located in this area, but we will address those shortly.

• First slot: The disk with the letter “J”
• Second slot: The disk with the letter “Ö” (umlaut)
• Third slot: The disk with the letter “G”
• Fourth slot: The disk with the letter “M”

After placing all disks into the cipher, rotate the dials until “J-Ö-G-M” is selected. Interestingly, nothing happens. However, if you observe the letters below the “solution,” you will discover they spell out “B-L-U-T.”

Examine the Code Desk document once more. You will find that “B-L-U-T” has a related numerical sequence: 3666. Approach the door panel and enter 3-6-6-6. This passcode for “B-L-U-T” will unlock the door.
