If there is one individual as knowledgeable about the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Kevin Feige, it is undeniably one of its newest talents, Iman Vellani. Making her debut in the franchise with Ms. Marvel, Vellani’s Disney Plus series is certainly one of the highest-rated shows on Rotten Tomatoes. Her contributions to Marvel extend beyond portraying Kamala Khan; she has also co-written a Ms. Marvel story in comic book format. But when it comes down to personal favorites, which Marvel films does Vellani favor most in the MCU so far? Well, it might not be surprising that many of them coincide with ours. However, there is one MCU film that the star revealed has caused a bit of conflict with her friends and family.
“I love Iron Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Endgame, and Thor: Ragnarok,” Vellani disclosed to D23. “I have genuinely always been a Marvel enthusiast. I used to make my entire family re-watch the films in chronological order before any new movie was released. I wrote my English essays on the MCU. I’ve painted everyone’s nails a different Avenger color before going to see a new Avengers movie. I created theory boards.”
When it comes to the most divisive superhero film in the MCU, however, Vellani confessed that she has taken firm stances regarding Captain America: Civil War. “I’ve lost friendships over people being Team Cap instead of Team Iron Man. I guess you could say I’m a fan… In case it wasn’t clear, Iron Man is my favorite. He’s the one who pulled me into the MCU.”
Her hero might ultimately find a place on her number-one villain list, considering what Marvel has in store for the future. Avengers: Doomsday will feature Robert Downey Jr. returning to the comic book movie universe as Doctor Doom, a twisted version of Tony from an alternate reality. We will see if she becomes starstruck or has to face her idol.
