Don’t overlook Atomfall either!
This March has been quite a tranquil month for Xbox Game Pass, with only eight titles added for Game Pass Ultimate members, but it certainly has been pretty good, especially considering Atomfall is just around the corner. That said, I can’t help but look forward to April already — the lineup is shaping up nicely for next month before we even reach it!
I must admit that at first glance, the major Xbox exclusive South of Midnight is not my top anticipated Game Pass title of the upcoming weeks – I’m just more intrigued by what I’ve seen of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 so far. The graphics, the story, the exploration of the gameplay… it looks like it could truly be something remarkable.
However, that doesn’t mean South of Midnight couldn’t impress me either! Pure Xbox team member Ben recently went ‘hands on’ with South of Midnight and immediately asked if he could review the full game (the answer is yes!), while our former video producer Craig shared similar enthusiasm for the early preview. They both clearly enjoy what they’ve played so far, which makes me excited to see what the hype is about on April Eighth.
These are the two big titles, but there’s so much more coming as well. Ultimately, we now have yet another first-party Xbox release in the form of Towerborne, which is finally transitioning from PC to console on April Twenty-ninth. Again, Pure Xbox team member PJ tested Towerborne a few months ago and praised it for offering a “fun and addictive ARPG experience.”
Not many seem to be discussing Descenders Next, but considering the original Descenders has been such a beloved staple on Xbox Game Pass over the years, I’m looking forward to it being just as popular when it launches on April 9th. Commandos: Origins will surely provide us with another excellent real-time strategy experience on the 9th as well, while Blue Prince on the tenth has been labeled as a potential GOTY contender by a former PlayStation executive!
Last but not least is Tempopo… a colorful puzzle game that has the potential to become a hidden gem.
There is clearly much more to arrive for Xbox Game Pass in the coming weeks, but I’m thrilled to see such a fantastic lineup this far ahead of time! You can check out more information on all the Xbox Game Pass releases for April 2025 so far elsewhere on Pure Xbox, and I’m eager to know which titles you are most excited about in the poll below.
