Bloober Team has been quite active recently, with the latest Silent Hill 2 remake earning significant praise and its upcoming project, Cronos: The New Dawn, set for release later this year. Today, during the Future Games Show, the Polish developer not only unveiled a new brand studio, Broken Mirror Games, but also their first project: I Hate This Place, which is an adaptation of the popular comic series in collaboration with Skybound Entertainment.
I Hate This Place is an isometric survival-horror game that immerses players in the character of Elena, who must confront a supernatural menace she inadvertently released into the world. Elena will navigate through swarms of creatures using both melee weapons and firearms, while also crafting essential materials in her efforts to reach each safehouse before nightfall.

A brief teaser trailer showcases the adaptation’s visual style, which is set to incorporate a retro comic-book aesthetic similar to its original source material. We also catch a glimpse of some of the formidable creatures Elena will encounter, along with a quick tease of the Horned Man at the center of it all.
The original comic series of I Hate This Place, penned by Kyle Starks and illustrated by Artyom Topilin, debuted in May 2022 through Image Comics and Skybound Entertainment. The series featured 10 issues released between May 2022 and July 2023, with two hardcover collections planned for later in 2023.
I Hate This Place is set to be released later this year on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
