Hunter x Hunter’s Nen: The Controversial Ban in Australia
Upcoming combat sport denied classification due to “implied sexual violence”
The Australian Classification Board has prohibited Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact due to “implied sexual violence.”
According to Polygon, the title from Arc Intention Works was previously denied classification because it included “a scene featuring a visual representation of implied sexual violence, where an adult male exposes himself to individuals under the age of 18.”
The game, which has been postponed until 2025, is scheduled to launch on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5.
In October, Sony issued an apology following the fact that Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number was available in Australia for a year despite being banned in 2015 due to themes of sexual violence.
Sony was informed that Hotline Miami 2 had not obtained “an official rating from the Australian Classification Board” and refunded customers who purchased the game during that time.
