Renowned video game creator Hideki Kamiya, recognized for titles like Bayonetta, Devil May Cry, and as a director of the original Resident Evil 2, has some rather strong words for those who leaked images and information regarding the Switch 2 ahead of its official announcement.

First reported by Eurogamer, Kamiya took to Twitter to share a series of vulgar messages directed at the leakers of Switch 2, and honestly, it’s hard to pick just one quote to share first. They’re all quite striking. Let’s start chronologically, shall we? Keep in mind that these are translated from Kamiya’s native Japanese, but there is absolutely no doubt about his message.

“I wish that all those who leaked Switch 2 information and those who assisted in leaking it will be cursed for their entire lives to always have filth on the soles of their shoes when they return home,” Kamiya stated.

As anticipated, based on leaks, Nintendo unveiled the Switch 2 on Thursday following months, even years, of speculation and rumors. Former Nintendo PR representatives have previously stated that Nintendo was quite upset about the leaks, and it’s understandable. Knowing what is about to be revealed certainly diminishes the excitement of the actual announcement.

You know what? Kamiya expresses the frustration over these leaks so much better than I could, so let’s hear from him:

“The terrible leaker acts solely for personal pleasure and self-gratification. Not only do they not contribute to anyone’s benefit, but they also inflict all sorts of opportunity losses and have nothing to be proud of. They are the lowest of the low and deserve to be covered in dirt from head to toe, thrown out into space… and then cease to think and wander eternally…”

Let me pause there. “Thrown out into space and then cease to think and wander eternally.” That is some intense sentiment, right there. And he didn’t stop there.

Weekly summaries, stories from the communities you appreciate, and more

“These leakers are in a privileged position where they possess information that only a select few know, yet what they engage in is nothing but a manifestation of a filthy desire for validation devoid of any rationality; they are disgraceful individuals. Thus, the blame should not rest on the manufacturers whose secrets have been exposed, but on these despicable people, and they must be dealt with swiftly…”

Kamiya is well-known for his outspoken nature, perhaps even hot-headed, yet this level of passion is notable even for him. I should remind you once again that his comments are machine-translated; however, it seems clear from his wording that he expressed the desire for the leakers to be covered in filth using different phrases, and the part about casting them into space doesn’t seem like a mistranslation either. It’s too explicit.

He is genuinely furious, and you know what? I kind of respect him for it. I truly miss the thrill of significant hardware reveals happening unexpectedly, and I think the last time that truly occurred for me was the PS4 back in 2013. Which is unfortunate. Go on, Kamiya.

Forget the leakers and enjoy the fact that Kamiya has his own studio, Clovers, and is working on Okami 2.
