The Xbox March 2025 update has been announced by Microsoft today, and as we begin to explore this update, it’s clear that it isn’t solely focused on consoles anymore – this month’s edition primarily caters to PC and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

One of the key features in this release does relate to consoles, however, and that is a collection of in-game rewards being launched for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers – which we have discussed in other articles on Pure Xbox.

Here’s a summary of the Xbox March 2025 update, with additional details available at Xbox Wire:

New Rewards For Free-To-Play Titles With Game Pass

Starting this week, we’re adding even more value for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers with new in-game benefits for free-to-play titles. Players will be able to unlock cosmetics, characters, in-game currency, and more for additional games, including Heroes of the Storm, Naraka: Bladepoint, and The Finals. Furthermore, we will introduce even more rewards beginning in April 2025, such as Call of Duty: Warzone and Enlisted.

Xbox Game Bar Receives A Fresh Look On PC

Players might have noticed that the Game Bar has a brand new appearance. This marks the beginning of several visual improvements that will be rolled out this week. The update features a redesigned layout for the Game Bar and various utility widgets, including the Home Bar, Capture widget, Performance widget, Resource widget, and Widget Store.

Additionally, we’ve improved controller navigation throughout the Widget Store, ensuring a smoother experience when using Compact Mode on PCs and Windows Handhelds.

Smooth Transitions Between Xbox Cloud Gaming Games

We’re making changes to how players transition between games on Xbox Cloud Gaming (beta), starting with Assassin’s Creed Shadows this month. Previously, players had to return to the Xbox.com/play page to switch between games. Now, while playing Assassin’s Creed Shadows from xbox.com/play, players can instantly launch other Assassin’s Creed games without needing to return to the Home page.

New Streamable Games On Xbox Cloud Gaming

This month, we’re adding additional games to the Try Your Favorite Game series. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can access over 50+ cloud-playable games on supported devices if they have them.
