77% of mobile game developers are currently executing a reward-driven user acquisition campaign, according to recent findings.

82% of mobile game creators believe that reward-based user acquisition outperforms traditional marketing methods.

This insight comes from Almedia’s Rewarded Returns report conducted by Atomik Research, which surveyed 502 developers from the US and UK.

Reward-driven user acquisition strategies encourage players to access games on various platforms, and in return, they receive rewards such as Amazon gift cards for completing specific tasks within a game. These tasks might include reaching a particular level or purchasing in-game items.

94% of those surveyed expressed their optimism about the potential benefits of this user acquisition approach, with 77% revealing that they have already launched a reward-based campaign.

However, 64% of developers felt that the current user acquisition landscape is quite challenging, particularly with regards to regulations and performance tracking.

95% of individuals who have implemented reward-oriented campaigns reported a competitive advantage, and 59% are planning to increase their investment in this area through 2025.

Among those who have yet to adopt a reward-based user acquisition strategy, 36% indicated that concerns about fraud are the primary reason for their hesitation.
