Update: We’re almost there! The April 2025 Nintendo Direct is happening right now — can you tell we’re excited?

Our second Nintendo Direct of 2025 is on the way, and it promises to be massive.

On the date of the Nintendo Switch 2’s announcement, Nintendo also confirmed an exclusive Nintendo Direct focusing solely on the new console in April 2025.

Anticipation is soaring, especially considering we’ve only seen a glimpse of the console alongside a single first-party title, but now we have time to sit back and get hyped about the console.

Here, we have outlined everything you need to know about the upcoming Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2, including start time, how to watch it, and what you can expect to see.

Nintendo Direct April 2025: Start Time

Nintendo is sticking to one of its tested time slots for this Switch 2 extravaganza. The April 2025 Direct kicks off on April 2, 2025, at 2pm BST — for various time zones, take a look at the list below:

  • UK/Ire: 2pm BST
  • Europe: 3pm CEST / 4pm EEST

Nintendo Treehouse Live – Nintendo Switch 2

After the Direct stream on April 2, Nintendo has announced two days of Treehouse streams on April 3 and 4 featuring gameplay from the Switch 2. The streams are set to last four hours and three hours, respectively.

Here are the exact start times for the Treehouse streams (both days share the same start time):

  • North America: 7am PDT / 8am MDT / 9am CDT / 10am EDT
  • UK/Ire: 3pm BST
  • Europe: 4pm CEST / 5pm EEST

Nintendo Direct April 2025: Where To Watch

As usual, you can catch the April 2025 Nintendo Switch 2 Direct on all of Nintendo’s official YouTube channels — Nintendo of America, Nintendo UK, or Nintendo Japan, for instance. Alternatively, check out Nintendo’s Twitch channel if you’re looking to switch it up from YouTube.

Or you can join us right here at Nintendo Lifestyles, where we’ll be hosting a stream. We will share a link to it closer to the date and time.

Nintendo Direct April 2025: What To Expect

Okay, we all know this will primarily focus on the Nintendo Switch 2 and will be an hour long. What that means is… pretty much anything. We expect the Direct will delve into console details and Joy-Con features, possibly shedding light on that mysterious C button and elaborating on the teased mouse capability. We might even receive a firmware update for the console — exciting!

One additional thing we can anticipate is more information on Mario Kart 9 — including its official title. So far, we’ve only glimpsed about 20 seconds of footage from the next Mario Kart, so we hope to see gameplay modes, track and character reveals, and any new mechanics that might be introduced. We can’t wait!

Apart from these two certainties, we are confident that there will be other Switch 2 games showcased, both first and third-party titles. When it comes to Nintendo, anything is possible. A new 3D Mario seems like a given, and perhaps we might also see Metroid Prime 4: Beyond or Pokémon Legends: Z-A — we know they are confirmed for Switch 1, but they could very well be coming to
