Microsoft plans to launch Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025, according to a recent report, and that’s not all.

NateTheHate shared this on his podcast today, indicating that Final Fantasy VII Remake is also set to arrive on Xbox in 2025. Windows Central journalist Jez Corden confirmed this, stating, “Microsoft isn’t stopping there.” Corden noted that Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, Age of Mythology, and Gears of War Ultimate Edition are expected to also return to PS5 this year. However, it was not clarified whether they would be available on Nintendo Switch 2.

Tom Warren from The Verge said that he was “willing to wager” that Microsoft would like to have some Xbox titles “ready for the Switch 2.”

Of course, plans can shift at any time for various reasons, so while these reports suggest credible information, nothing is confirmed yet. GameSpot has reached out to Microsoft for additional details.

This report follows closely after an analyst predicted that 2025 would mark the year Microsoft begins to bring “all their major games” to PS5. This should not be particularly surprising, as Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer himself has mentioned that any Xbox game could potentially come to PS5.

One of the next significant Xbox titles expected on PlayStation is Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, scheduled for release on PS5 in Spring 2025. Additionally, there are ongoing speculations about a Halo: Combat Evolved remaster project that may launch on PS5. Looking further ahead, experts have suggested that transitioning the Halo franchise to Unreal Engine could make it theoretically simpler to port the series to PlayStation.

In May, it was reported that Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and CFO Amy Hood are actively encouraging growth across all divisions, including Xbox.
