Negate: Xbox

It has been another significant week in the realm of Xbox, and after persistent speculations, it has now been officially announced that Forza Horizon 5 will be coming to PlayStation 5 this spring.

If you’re curious about what the future may hold for PS5 beyond this point, it seems Xbox’s flagship character might be one of the next candidates, specifically Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

Windows Central’s Jez Corden has responded to a comment regarding the “big three” Xbox IPs potentially being developed for other platforms (namely Halo, Forza, and Gears) – implying that Halo might be “first” now that Horizon 5 has been confirmed… but we will just have to wait and see.

Speculations about Forza Horizon 5 becoming available on multiple platforms date back to last year. A port of Halo: MCC for PlayStation and Nintendo has also been mentioned several times now – with informers like eXtas1s and the ever-reliable Nate the Hate contributing:

“Nate the Hate in early 2025: “Games that I have heard will be released multiplatform in 2025 beyond the obvious include Flight Simulator — which will arrive on PlayStation 5 and Switch 2 — and Halo: The Master Chief Collection will also be arriving on PS5 and Switch 2 as well.”

Xboxes previous first-party releases on various platforms have already been proven successful, and recent reports from last month indicated that Xbox’s cross-platform releases positioned it as the leading game publisher.

Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft Gaming, has also emphasized throughout the past week that the goal is to keep launching games on PlayStation and Nintendo platforms moving forward.
