Frank Grillo Exudes Optimism for Creature Commandos Season 2 Amidst Uncertainty
Creature Commandos star Frank Grillo is optimistic that the distinctive DC series will receive a second season.
“Unless something goes dramatically wrong, I believe we’ll witness a season 2,” Grillo shares with GamesRadar+. “I’m eager to observe its progression. I would like to see how they grow as a unit, as it takes the entire season for them to form a symbiotic type of group and to discover where it leads. It begins with me encountering them and thinking, what am I getting into? What are these beings? And then we evolve into a family.”
Grillo portrays Rick Flag Sr., the former navy veteran whom Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) recruits to manage a peculiar team of extraordinary creatures known as the Creature Commandos. Flag is set to appear not only in the unique series but also in Peacemaker season 2 and the forthcoming Superman film. It’s possible you may remember that Rick’s son, Rick Flag Jr., was killed by Peacemaker in The Suicide Squad, signaling that Rick Flag Sr. will likely spend his time in the DCU seeking vengeance.
Creature Commandos serves as the inception of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new DC universe, introducing us to a completely new set of characters that, despite their unconventional nature, will each have their own storyline.
